Description
Very fast growing, dense, evergreen golden conifer. It will make a splendid specimen tree, columnar with a narrow, dense, conical top. Grows 60-75cm (30ins – 3ft) a year. It makes a good dense hedge and can be kept relatively low and narrow if regularly clipped but do not cut back into the brown wood as it will not re-generate. Leyland Cypress is a hybrid of Monterey cypress (Cupressus macrocarpa) and Nootka cypress (Cupressus nootkatensis). As a hybrid it is almost always sterile, so is propagated mainly by cuttings..
