Description
The hardy perennial Linaria maroccana, also known as Fairy Flax, graces gardens with its miniature Snapdragon-like flowers arranged on short spikes. This delightful plant stands out as one of the most cheerful and colourful additions to any garden. Aptly named, it showcases an array of bright shades and hues reminiscent of the Northern Lights, including amethyst, violet, and magenta.
Linaria maroccana, introduced to gardens in 1872, is an erect, slender annual with small lance-shaped fleshy leaves in a vibrant emerald green. The long-spurred, two-lipped flowers, resembling Snapdragons, bloom from June to September, presenting a kaleidoscope of colours. With a height ranging from 50 to 60cm (20 to 24in) and a spread of 25 to 30cm (10 to 12in), this ethereal-hued plant adds charm and vibrancy to any garden.
