Description
A hardy herbaceous perennial shrub with a great structural form and an upright growing habit. The Lupinus ‘Red Rum’ is a beautiful and low maintenance plant boasting brilliant red flower spires atop tall, rigid stems carrying dense masses of white-flecked red blooms from late Spring into the Summer. Mounded clumps of palmately divided, narrow, mid to light green leaves grow beneath, provide a modest groundcover. A great option for pot planting or structural border displays.
Plant in moderately fertile, moist, humus-rich, well-drained soil and keep in full or partial sun. Prefers neutral to slightly acidic soils. Avoid waterlogging, especially in Winter as this may cause root rot.
