Description
Mahonia Volcano are compact, rounded garden shrubs with pinnate leaves and tall racemes of flowers from August through November, making them highly attractive outdoor plants all year round. The evergreen shrub gets its Volcano name from the fiery hues of the buds and flowers. Orange buds appear on these Mahonia plants from late summer and open out into small but showy vivid orange-yellow blooms.
Also known as Oregon Grape, this outdoor plant is undemanding and easy to grow. It prefers a spot in partial shade or full shade but tolerates full if the soil is kept consistently moist. Mahonia Volcano are ideal shrubs for shaded areas. They are fully hardy evergreen shrubs and thrive in moist, well-draining soil.
Ideal for adding structure to beds and borders, Mahonia Volcano also grows well in a plant pot or container. It makes an excellent standalone shrub for brightening patios and paved areas, and looks incredible planted in a group, producing the effect of flowing lava when the plant is in full bloom.
Please Note: When purchasing plants, please consider that each live item is unique and may therefore differ from the images shown, which are for illustration purposes only. The plant will be supplied in a growers pot. Depending on season, some plants may be pruned back to encourage growth and deciduous plants may arrive without leaves.
