Philadelphus ‘Virginal’ is a beautiful flowering shrub that is possibly one of the most scented of garden plants you can grow. Producing the most delightful citrus scent that you can help but enjoy, it’s easy to see how it got is common name ‘Mock Orange’.
During spring and early summer, its upright stems are covered in large, soft-green foliage and then come June the buds on this Philadelphus burst into life and produce clusters of elegant creamy-white, fragrant blooms. A deciduous bush, it bears oval leaves from spring to autumn, before losing its leaves ready for fresh growth in the new year.
