Sow indoors, a warm kitchen windowsill is all you need for starting these seeds. Sow 0.5cm deep, in small pots of sandy compost. Water well and place in a warm position. A temperature of 20-25°C. is ideal. Keep moist. Germination may be slow and erratic, from two weeks to two months. Transplant seedlings individually to mixed bowls for more impact. Grow on in cooler, but not cold conditions. When mature, allow plants to dry out before watering. Do not water at all between October and March. Do not allow their temperature to fall below 10ºC in winter. Feed regularly during summer months, when mature plants may flower.
