Description
Mr Fothergill’s Forget Me Not (Jamaican) Blue Lady Seeds, Browallia, bushy and free flowering. Do not allow young plants to dry out. They can also be grown as a conservatory plant, simply pot up individually and keep in a cool, airy position.
Sow indoors, a warm kitchen windowsill is all you need for starting these seeds. Sow thinly on the surface of a small tray of pre-watered compost. Place in a warm, light position. A temperature of 20-25°C. is ideal. Keep the compost moist. The tray can be covered with clingfilm to preserve humidity, but remove when seedlings appear. Seedlings usually appear in 21-28 days. Transplant seedlings 5cm apart to other trays when large enough to handle. (Always handle by the leaf, never by the stem). Grow on in cooler, but not cold conditions. Do not allow young plants to dry out. Gradually accustom young plants to outside conditions (avoid frosts), before planting out 45cm apart, when frosts are over.
• A half hardy annual, flowers the same year as sown
• Bushy, rounded plants with tropical looking blooms
• Exceptional displays for beds, borders and containers
Sow time: Feb-Apr
