Description
Mr Fothergill’s Ragged Robin Seeds, Distinctive flowers, loved by butterflies. Can be found growing wild in damp meadows, grassland and on roadsides, making it an ideal addition to the flower border and wildlife areas.
Sow indoors for surest results, in trays of compost. Cover very lightly with fine soil. Water well and place on a warm windowsill. A temperature of 15-20°C. is ideal. Seedlings appear in 14-42 days. Transplant seedlings 5cm apart to further trays when large enough to handle. (Always handle by a leaf, never by the stem.) Gradually accustom young plants to outside conditions (avoid frosts) before planting out 25cm apart. Or sow outdoors in a seed bed, cover very lightly with fine soil. Keep moist and weed free. Thin seedlings to 5cm apart before planting out to flowering positions in spring or autumn, spacing 25cm apart.
