Description
Mr Fothergill’s Squash (Summer) Sunburst F1 Seeds, Easy to grow, unusual, ‘patty pans’. Pick when 5cm diameter as ‘baby’ veg and use whole or up to 10cm diameter, slice and steam or bake.
Sow indoors for surest results, 1.5cm deep, edge down, in small pots of compost. Water well and place in a warm position. A temperature of 15-20° ideal. Keep moist. Seedlings usually appear in 7-14 days. Gradually accustom plants to outside conditions (avoid frosts), before planting out 60cm apart, when frosts are over. Or sow outdoors for ease, where they are to crop, 1.5cm deep directly into finely prepared soil which has already been watered. Allow 60cm between sowing positions. Sow two seeds, edge down, per position. Early sowings benefit from cloche protection. Thin to leave the stronger plant. Water well until plants are established.
