Pachycereus (Lophocereus) schottii f. cristatus

Description

The lumps and bumps of the Lophocereus schottii are unusual with this crested form. Pale green columns of Lophocereus schottii f. cristatus produce an array of irregular waves all across the surface of this plant, with small spines along the ribs. With lots of sunshine, new growth can appear a vibrant purple.

WATERING

Water when soil is 100% dry. Water lightly (if at all) during cold winter months. Aloes can be prone to rot if cold and wet at the same time.

LIGHT REQUIREMENTS

Full sun.

FEED

If not repotting then you can use a well-balanced cactus feed every month from April – September.

REPOTTING

Repot this plant every two years to replenish the soil and to allow extra room for the roots to spread out. Use a well-draining and gritty cactus compost.
