Description
Papaver Pink Perfection oriental poppy plants boast large blooms in an attractive shade of pink. Loosely-arranged flower petals are tissue paper-like and are frilled around the edges. The mid-pink hue gets darker towards the centre of the flower, becoming purple with stamens that are almost black. The foliage is slightly hairy and unfurls in spring to show off its lobate shape and bright green colouring.
Oriental poppies have a whimsical charm and are excellent cottage garden plants. Deadheading spent blooms encourages a strong second show and extends the plant’s flowering period. The nectar rich flowers make them bee friendly plants that will attract pollinators to the garden.
Papaver pink perfection poppies are fully hardy perennial plants resistant to deer, rabbits, mice, slugs and snails. These herbaceous perennial flowering plants die back in autumn to overwinter underground before re-emerging in spring.
