Description
This variety starts cropping well when young, producing consistent heavy crops. Skin pale green ripening to yellow with gold or brown russeting. Excellent flavoured pale yellow flesh which is sweet and juicy. Compact habit, so best choice for growing as a cordon. Good pollinator, reasonably self-fertile but better with a pollinator. Raised in East Malling, Kent in 1968 and introduced in 1995, a cross between Conference and Doyenne du Comice and named afer the supersonic aircraft, Concorde, which was a collaboration between France and England, as is the pear the French Comice and the British Conference.
