Description
Penstemon heterophyllus ‘Electric Blue’ brings vivid summer and autumn colour with very little fuss. From June, intense blue, funnel-shaped flowers appear above neat silvery green foliage, with purple tinges and red stems adding extra depth to the display.
This is a compact, bushy evergreen perennial that reaches up to 60cm wide, to give borders, patio pots and mixed perennial displays a bold shot of colour while staying easy to manage. The long-lasting flowers keep coming over a generous season, so it helps fill that important gap between early summer colour and later autumn interest.
It is also an RHS recommended ‘Plant for Pollinators’, making it a strong choice for gardeners who want beauty and wildlife value in one plant. Bees and beneficial insects love the tubular blooms, adding life and movement around the garden.
