Pieris Polar Passion

Description

Better known as Lily of the Valley, Pieris Polar Passion provides garden colour throughout the year. The mid-green leaves are edged in creamy white with a glossy texture. In March, the small flowering shrubs produce panicles of dusky reddish-pink blooms, lasting throughout spring. These lightly fragrant flowers are a magnet for pollinators and are a valuable source of nutrition for early bees and butterflies.

These bushy evergreen shrubs are ideal for adding colour, height and structure to beds and make excellent border shrubs. However, your Pieris japonica plant will also grow well in a plant pot or container, making this outdoor plant perfect for brightening patios and other paved areas.

Pieris Polar Passion is a low-maintenance evergreen shrub that needs very little attention to thrive. Pieris plants may need some additional winter protection until established but are otherwise undemanding. Mulch in spring, deadhead spent flowers, and water your garden plant during particularly dry spells.
