Pilea cadierei

Description

A genus that was once only known because of the iconic Pancake Plant is now starting to showcase some of its other botanical gems, including the sparkling and delightful Pilea cadierei. Long dainty stems grow upright and tall, and adorn themselves with broad green leaves, each one uniquely patterned with metallic silver. It can get a bit leggy indoors though, so make sure to give it a nice prune every year to encourage a bushy look.

WATERING

In S/S water when 20% of the top soil has dried out. In A/W allow top soil to dry out 40%.

LIGHT REQUIREMENTS

Bright, indirect, shade tolerant.

FEED

Use a house plant fertiliser every month between April – September.

REPOTTING

Repot every year when young, and then only when roots emerge from the drainage holes.
