Description
This Brazilian cactus has a lovely silvery-blue sheen, from which it gets the common name “Blue Torch Cactus”. This cactus is a slow grower, forming a multi-branched candelabra of 10 meters – or even taller – in optimal conditions. Once mature, Pilocereus pachycladus will produce thick, hairy tufts from which white and yellow flowers will emerge on summer nights.
WATERING
In summer water thoroughly only when 100% of the soil has dried out. A/W refrain from watering. In spring gradually increase watering – depending on temperature and light exposure.
LIGHT REQUIREMENTS
Full sun.
FEED
Use a cactus fertiliser 3-4 times from April – September.
REPOTTING
Repot every 2-3 years to replenish the nutrients within the soil.
