Description
Sow seeds from March to May under cover in well-drained seed compost.
Gently press seeds into the surface of the compost dont cover, as light is essential for germination.
Keep the compost at around 20c and germination usually occurs within 15-30 days.
When seedlings are large enough to handle, transplant them into 7.5 cm pots.
Gradually acclimatise seedlings to outdoor conditions before planting out.
Space plants approximately 20cm apart in a sunny or partially shaded, well-drained position.
With an early sowing, Platycodon can flower in its first year.
