Description
This upright perennial is also known as Jacobs Ladder because of its he ladder-like, pinnate leaves which are bright-green and upright. Flowers which are 2.5cm (1 inch) wide, bell-shaped, and blue with prominent yellow stamens are held well above the foliage, and are born on stiff stems throughout the summer. Sets seed readily and does well in grass in a wildlife garden. Plant in sun or partial shade. It dies down in autumn but will shoot again in spring. Height and spread: 50 – 100cm (20 – 40ins).
