Description
Sow seeds directly outdoors from March to May in well-drained soil.
Scatter seeds on the surface and press lightly into the soil or lightly cover.
The seeds need light to germinate.
Germination usually takes 10-20 days at 15-20c and can be erratic.
Thin seedlings to 20cm apart once large enough to handle.
Plant in a sunny, sheltered location with well-drained soil.
Water lightly to keep soil moist until established but avoid waterlogging.
Deadhead spent flowers to encourage prolonged blooming.
Make succession sowings every 23 weeks for a continuous display.
