With colour that runs from December through to May, Primrose ‘Harlequin’ is a genuine mood-lifter when little else is flowering. The colours are out of this world: crisp whites, rich purples, vivid reds, warm golds and soft pinks.

They’re not shy, either. These are floriferous little plants that flower their socks off, making them just the job for pots, baskets, front-of-border planting or filling awkward gaps beneath shrubs.

Their dark green rosettes of leaves are neat, compact and slightly textured, a nice foil for the flowers and a sign of how sturdy and well-grown the plants are. They’ll sit happily alongside other spring favourites, and theyre hardy enough to overwinter outdoors without any fuss.
