Description
Known as the broadleaf palm, Rhapis excelsa is native to tropical areas of China and Vietnam. Thick glossy leaves sit atop slender and fuzzy stems, with the most distinct feature of the palm being the toothed blunt tips.
WATERING
In S/S water when 20% of the top soil has dried out. In A/W allow top soil to dry out 50%. Mist daily.
LIGHT REQUIREMENTS
Bright, indirect.
FEED
Use a houseplant fertiliser once a month from April – October.
REPOTTING
Repot every two-three years to give the roots more space to grow and to replenish the soil. Use a well draining house plant compost with 20-30% added draining medium like perlite, grit or hydroleca.
