Description
Large, native fast growing deciduous shrub with arching branches bearing 5cm (2ins) wide white to pale pink flowers in June followed by glossy red egg-shaped hips in autumn. The flowers are nectar rich making them attracctive to bees and pollinating insects and the hips provide food for birds in winter, or can be used to make rose-hip syrup. This rose will happily climb through an existing hedge or shrubs using its strong hooked thorns to anchor itself.
