50x Salsify Sandwich Island Seeds

Salsify Sandwich Island has white roots that are significantly longer than those of a parsnip. It is frequently referred to as the “Oyster vegetable” since it is thought to taste like oysters and has a sweet and faintly nutty flavour. The only way to enjoy this vegetable fresh is to produce it yourself from seed. It is widely used throughout Europe. Harvestable Sandwich Island Salsify is available starting in October. Salsify can be consumed raw, cooked, baked, fried, or in a gratin dish.

Growing instructions:

Sow the Salsify Sandwich Island Seeds from March to May. Thinly sow seeds into trays (2cm deep). Germination usually takes 10-14 days and once the seedlings have germinated and have grown 10-15cm tall, transplant the seeds or spread the plants 30-50cm apart. Water plants thoroughly after planting especially during warm summer days. Harvest from October through to March.
