Description
The leaves of Strelitzia nicolai are like no other. Big, bold, iconic. A relative of the banana plant, this South African tropical can reach up to three metres indoors if given the right conditions, making it a dream architectural specimen for the home.
WATERING
In S/S water when 30% of the top soil has dried out. In A/W allow top soil to dry out 50%. Mist now and then.
LIGHT REQUIREMENTS
Bright, indirect.
FEED
Use a liquid houseplant fertiliser approximately every 3-4 weeks during the growing season (April – September).
REPOTTING
Repot approximately every 2-3 years; plants like to be relatively pot bound. Use a free-draining houseplant compost mix with added drainage such as sand or gravel.
