Sunflower (Small Black Seeded) Growing Instructions

Optional Soak the seed for 3-8 hours in cold water, before rinsing and draining the seed.

Repeat this every 8-12 hours until the seeds start to germinate.

After this, sow the seeds directly onto a moistened growing medium or growing mat and cover the seeds and lightly mist with water.

Place the seeded tray into a second tray without drainage holes. This will allow you to bottom water the tray.

Cover with another tray on top to stop light getting in. If the soil is dry, then water from the bottom or mist.

Keep the tray in the blackout period until day 4 or when the seedlings are pushing against the tray above.

When watering the seedlings, using the bottom tray.

Harvest when the seedlings are 6-12cm. Cut the stems above the soil line with a knife or scissors.
