Description
Swiss Chard Lucullus is a highly productive variety, yielding an abundance of large, delicious leaves with wide, white mid-ribs. The succulent mid-rib can be cooked and served with melted butter, offering an easier and, for some, a tastier alternative to spinach. If the plants are allowed to flower, the stalks can be cooked and eaten similar to sprouting broccoli. This variety can be harvested from mid-summer to late autumn and, after a typical winter, will produce an exceptionally early spring crop.
