About the traditional hedgerow tree pack
Hedgerows are vital for wildlife, creating corridors, pathways, and nesting and roosting spaces. This makes them invaluable for maintaining and increasing biodiversity.
This pack, subsidised by our partners*, contains a mix of species that’s perfect for planting shrubby hedgerows. Each pack comes with a tree of your choice that will grow up through the hedgerow, providing height along the hedging and increasing biodiversity.
Our hedgerow lengths are estimated based on planting four to five saplings per meter, so final hedge length may differ.
Each pack contains: Hawthorn, blackthorn, hazel, crab apple. Elder is also included in the 20m+ packs.
Tree options include: English oak, silver birch, goat willow, wild cherry.
Please note: English oak and wild cherry can be toxic to livestock, so please bear this in mind when choosing your trees.

Tree protection options
It’s important to consider if your saplings need protection, particularly from browsing mammals. You can choose to purchase tree protection alongside your saplings.
Choose from:
No tree protection
Choose this if your saplings are unlikely to be affected by browsing mammals, or if you have alternative plans for tree protection. For example, browsing reduction or fencing.
Tubes and easywrap mix
Easywrap and canes are perfect for shrubs, while tubes and stakes will protect grow-through trees. This helps prevent damage from small mammals like voles.
Tubes and stakes
For trees only. Provides protection from small and large mammals, but no protection for shrubs. Tubes will promote quicker upward growth and help you identify the grow-through trees when you’re ready to cut your hedge.
