About our hedge mixes

Three mixes of trees and shrubs that are designed to replace and replenish hedgerows. Hedgerow removal is a factor in the decline of many plant and animal species that benefit from this habitat, so these mixes have been developed to give them a helping hand. Each pack contains shrubs that provide food and shelter to to mammals, insects and birds, while providing a natural screen to block unattractive views, create a wind break and even help reduce noise levels.

Choose from the following packs, with either 15 (3m) or 30 (6m) trees per pack:

Standard hedge mix

Pack of 15
6 x hawthorn, 5 x blackthorn, 2 x silver birch, 2 x field maple.
Pack of 30
12 hawthorn, 10 x blackthorn, 4 x silver birch, 4 x field maple.

Traditional hedge mix

Pack of 15
4 x hawthorn, 4 x blackthorn, 4 x hazel, 3 x field maple.
Pack of 30
8 x hawthorn, 8 x blackthorn, 8 x hazel, 6 x field maple.

Horse and livestock-friendly hedge mix

We always advise that you do your own careful research about which tree species are non-toxic to livestock and horses. Although we have tried to pick species carefully, we can take no responsibility for individual circumstances.

Our hedgerow lengths are estimated based on planting four to five saplings per metre, so final hedge length may differ.
