Eulychnia castanea monstruosa

Description

The thick, cylindrical stem of Eulychnia castanea monstruosa can be a little intimidating. Short, yellow spines zig-zag across the stem, with fresh spines emerging in a deep orange hue, while older spines lower down fade to a pale yellow.

WATERING

Water when 100% of the soil has dried out. Keep dry during winter months.

LIGHT REQUIREMENTS

Full sun.

FEED

Use a cactus fertiliser 3 times between March – November.

REPOTTING

Repot every 2-3 years. Use a well-draining cactus compost, adding extra drainage such as perlite, pumice or grit.
