Description
Acorus Gramineus ‘Golden Delight’ is a semi-evergreen, low growing grass-like perennial with arching, aromatic, golden-yellow to yellow-green leaves. Tiny, insignificant spikes of yellow-green flowers are produced amongst the foliage in spring, followed byfleshy fruit. This striking ornamental grass is also known as Sweet Flag or Japanese Rush and looks great planted around a pond edge or for helping to brighten up boggy regions of the garden where little else will grow.
Plant in wet or very moist, fertile, humus-rich, well-drained soil. It can be grown partially submerged in the water and planted in aquatic baskets to minimise root disturbance. Comb through the plant in winter to remove dead foliage. Feed with a general purpose fertiliser during the growing season and if over-large clumps in early spring.
