Agapanthus Poppin Purple

Description

An easy to grow perennial and a more compact variety of the species with great flower colour and the chance for repeat blooms later in the season. The Agapanthus ‘Poppin Purple’, sometimes known as African Lily or Lily of the Nile, is a smaller shrub with clumping, strap-shaped foliage beneath upright stems up to around 50cm with rounded clusters of nodding, trumpet-shaped, rich purple flowers with darker edges and central stripes along each petal which appear around mid-Summer to Autumn.

Grows well in most well-drained soils. Keep in full sun in a sheltered position or as a container plant in colder regions which may then be moved under glass in the Winter months. Water well during growing and flowering seasons. May die back in colder regions but fresh growth will be seen the following Spring.
