Alocasia cucullata

Description

These dark green, arrow leaved Alocasias are significantly easier to look after than some of their kin. Their thick woody trunks enable them to store water for longer periods of time, making them fairly drought tolerant. Although these trunks develop fairly slowly with age, so please note that not all specimens will have one.

WATERING

In S/S water when 20% of the top soil has dried out. In A/W allow top soil to dry out 70%.

LIGHT REQUIREMENTS

Bright and indirect.

FEED

Use a houseplant fertiliser every 2 – 4 weeks from April – October.

REPOTTING

Repot roughly every 1-1.5 years. Use a well draining house plant compost with added draining medium like perlite.
