Alocasia reginula ‘Black Velvet’

Description

Found growing amongst the wild foliage of jungle floors in Southeast Asia, the Alocasia reginula ‘Black Velvet’ is another striking member of the revered genus, loved for its dark and dramatic velvet-like leaves with pale silvery veining. A high humidity lover, its the perfect specimen for a terrarium or bathroom with a warm sunny spot.

WATERING

In S/S water when 20% of the top soil has dried out. In A/W allow top soil to dry out 70%.

LIGHT REQUIREMENTS

Bright, indirect.

FEED

Use a houseplant fertiliser every 2 – 4 weeks from April – October.

REPOTTING

Repot roughly every 1-1.5 years. Use a well draining house plant compost with added draining medium like perlite.
