Description
A great option for a house plant, Purple Anthuriums are beautiful perennials with glossy, waxy foliage and bright flowerlike growths which appear on long, slender stems. These bracts, called spathes surround a cluster of tightly packed flowers known as a spadix, which grow throughout the year in roughly 3-month cycles providing a lovely, bright display. Anthuriums, or Tail Flowers are a great choice for a potted indoor plant or for planting in conservatories, terrariums or greenhouses.
Plant in rich, well-drained soil and keep in partial sun. Tolerates some full sun but grows much better when light is every 1-2 weeks and do not maintain soil moisture as this may cause root rot and damage. Use a spray bottle with water for vibrant foliage as this cultivar likes humid environs.
