Description
Blechnum spicant, or hard fern, is a hardy evergreen fern with a tufted, mound-forming habit. The single pinnate leaves are long, leathery and dark green and taper into the midrib at both ends. The fern is well suited to shaded borders/bed or as groundcover.
Plant in moist, humus rich, acidic soil. Keep in partial or full shade. Can tolerate some indirect sunlight.
