Description
This plant really comes into its own in spring when the broad sprays of tiny, intensely clear blue, star-shaped flowers appear from April to May and some years earlier. These are held on stems well above the large, heart shaped, long stalked, mid to deep green leaves. The flowers are nectar and pollen rich so are attractive to bees. Thrives in partial or full shade in humus rich, moist but well drained soil, so good and reliable for moist shady areas of the garden. Height 45cm (1.5ft), spread 60cm (2ft).
