Description
Start the seeds indoors from February-May.
Sow the seeds thinly on the surface of moist seed compost and dont cover, as light aids germination.
Place in a heated propagator at a temperature of 21-24c.
Keep the compost consistently moist but not waterlogged.
Seeds will usually germinate within 20-30 days but can be erraticx.
Once germinated, remove any cover to increase air circulation and prevent damping off.
Once seedlings are large enough to handle, transplant them into individual pots.
Grow on in cooler conditions with bright, indirect light.
Gradually acclimatise the plants to outdoor conditions before planting out.
Plant out after the risk of frost has passed into their final flowering position.
Choose a sheltered, partially shaded site with moist, well-drained soil.
Space plants about 20-25 cm apart.
Water regularly during dry spells if needed.
Remove spent flowers to encourage continuous blooming throughout the summer.
