Description
A real eye catching, strong-growing, semi-evergreen climber with rounded leaves and self-clinging tendrils. In early summer it produces clusters of unusual deep purple blooms which have a captivating spicy, chocolate perfume attractive to bees and pollinating insects. In a good summer and if cross pollinated these can be followed by very unusual large sausage-shaped pale purple fruits. Sun or shade and very effective if planted over an arch so flowers and leaves can be seen from below. Height up to 9m (30ft).
