Description
Citrus ‘Buddha’s Hand’ is unlike any other fruit tree you can grow! Bizarre golden fruits divide into slender finger-like segments, closely resembling an open hand.
Closely related to lemons and oranges, it shares glossy evergreen leaves and highly fragrant white flowers, often tinged purple beneath. Blossom can appear repeatedly through the year, filling the air with sweet perfume before the remarkable fruits mature.
The fruit contains no pulp or juice. Instead, it consists almost entirely of thick, aromatic peel packed with essential oils. The fragrance is powerful, combining fresh lemon zest with subtle floral complexity. The rind can be grated into desserts, savoury dishes, beverages or used in infusions.
Traditionally treasured in Asia as a symbol of prosperity and happiness, it also serves as a natural room fragrance.
Grown in a large container and protected from frost, it becomes a fascinating ornamental tree for conservatories and summer patios alike.
Supplied as an established plant in a 4 litre pot, ready to plant.
