Gladiolus communis subsp. byzantinus (Gladioli)

Description

Originally from the olive groves of the Mediterranean and now naturalised in parts of southern England and the Silly Isles, this beautiful flower is ideal for cutting and displaying. It works very well in borders or in grass, where the tall spikes of pink-purple flowers are resplendent in May and June.
