Description
This slow growing, compact, evergreen shrub has, not surprisingly, been awarded the R.H.S. Award of Garden Merit. Its distinctive brown stems are covered with small, glossy, oval leaves which are golden-yellow with splashes of green in spring, then turning lime-green and yellow in summer. The colour is more intense if planted in full sun but the plant is tolerant of shade where the colours will be less vibrant. Its bushy habit make it ideal for a dwarf hedge, but it also makes an attractive small specimen shrub. Occasional white flowers appear in spring followed by black fruits in autumn.
