This hardy perennial forms a low, tidy mound that becomes smothered in star shaped blooms from early spring until the first frosts. At just 20cm tall and spreading to around 30cm, it fits beautifully into rockeries, gravel beds and troughs.
Once established, it is fully hardy and copes well with dry conditions and needs very little maintenance. The key is simple – give it full sun and free draining compost, and avoid wet conditions in winter.
Its dense flowering habit means you enjoy repeat displays for months, not weeks. The open blooms are attractive to pollinators, while the evergreen foliage keeps structure at ground level.
