Macodes petola ‘Gold’ (Jewel Orchid)

Description

The Macodes petola ‘Gold’ is a truly hypnotising plant. Electrifying and luminous veining streaks through each deep green velvety leaf, creating a mesmerising network of neon bright variegation. As if that wasn’t enough, this dazzling jewel will also treat you to a little flower show, usually around winter, giving you something to look forward to during the dark chilly days.

WATERING

Allow the top 30-40% soil to dry out before watering throughout the year.

LIGHT REQUIREMENTS

Indirect but bright.

FEED

Use a nitrogen heavy fertiliser through spring and a potassium fertiliser in late summer.

REPOTTING

Repot when the plant crowds the pot; ideally into a mix of sphagnum moss and orchid bark.
