Description
Sow the seeds indoors between March and May, or September and November.
Use trays filled with moist, freedraining seed compost.
Scatter the seeds on the surface and press them in gently.
Cover very lightly with a thin layer of compost or vermiculite.
Keep in a heated propagator at 18-20c until seedlings appear.
Germination usually takes 7-10 days.
When seedlings are large enough to handle, transplant into individual small pots.
Harden off the young plants gradually before planting outdoors after the last frost.
Cut back spent flowers to encourage a second flowering.
