Opuntia microdasys ssp. rufida

Description

Opuntia microdasys, also known as the Bunny Ears Cactus, looks cute but don’t be fooled. Although the soft, fuzzy-looking glochids appear inviting compared to the long spines commonly seen in other members of the cactus family, we recommend handling this Bunny with extra care.

WATERING

Water when soil is dry 100%. Water lightly (if at all) during winter months.

LIGHT REQUIREMENTS

Full sun.

FEED

Use a cactus fertiliser 3 times between March – November.

REPOTTING

Repot every 2-3 years. Use a well draining cactus compost, adding extra drainage such as perlite, pumice or grit.
