Description
Growing as a tree in the spiny thickets of Madagascar, Pachypodium geayi grows as a thick silvery stem covered in spikes, with a crown of long thin leaves. Pachypodium geayi may lose its leaves in winter but they will return the following spring.
WATERING
In Summer water thoroughly only when 100% of the soil has dried out. A/W refrain from watering. Spring gradually increase watering – depending on temp and light exposure.
LIGHT REQUIREMENTS
Full sun.
FEED
Use a cactus fertiliser 2-3 times a year.
REPOTTING
Can remain the same pot for a number of years, repot when roots begin to protrude from the bottom of the nursery pot. Use a very well-draining cactus potting mix, with a minimum of 50% extra drainage medium (such as pumice, gravel or perlite).
