Description
Rapid carpeting evergreen or semi-evergreen sub-shrub with ovate, dark green leaves, paler beneath, and masses of large, 7cm (3 inch), very showy, saucer-shaped, golden-yellow flowers on rd stems, from June to September. These consist of 5 petals surrounding a ‘tuft’ of prominent yellow stamens with reddish anthers. Cut down to near ground level in April to obtain thickest cover. Any well drained soi or position and is tolerant of dense shade. Spreads by runners and can be invasive. Height 30cm (1ft). Plant 38 – 45cm (15 – 18ins) apart.
