Selenicereus (Epiphyllum) chrysocardium

Description

Formerly known as Epiphyllum chrysocardium, the Selenicereus chrysocardium, or ‘Fernleaf Cactus’ is another epiphytic rainforest cactus that is full of personality. Its branching stems are adorned with bright green leaves that form a fun and sassy zig-zag pattern, bursting up and then down, making it a perfect specimen for a hanging basket or macrame.

WATERING

Water when 90% of the soil is dry.

LIGHT REQUIREMENTS

Bright, indirect.

FEED

Use a cactus fertiliser three times a year from April – October.

REPOTTING

Repot every two years to give the roots more space to grow and to replenish the soil. Use a well draining house plant compost with 40% added draining medium like perlite, grit or hydroleca.
