Description
A silvery-white film coats the surface of this Central Mexico native. Thick, columnar stems produce lumpy ribs with almost black spines, while more mature areas lower down the stems fade to a grey-green colour. Its rare, nocturnal blooms are cream or green-brown in colour. This unusual cactus would fit perfectly into the background of an apocalyptic sci-fi scene.
