Description
Hapil strawberries are a popular Belgian variety known for their toughness and their ability to survive and thrive in dry weather. This breed of strawberry produces small, glossy, bright red berries into midsummer, which means a longer fruiting season. It is a low maintenance plant, and is easy to cultivate for beginner gardeners.
These Strawberry plants will arrive as a bare root, ready to arrival they are dormant with any leftover foliage shrivelled and dry. They should be planted soon after arrival and once planted they will be revitalised, with new growth emerging quickly and flowering soon after.
Strawberry ‘Hapil’ is an easy to grow and reasonably hardy bare root runner, and can be planted or potted in planters, pots, containers, or baskets. It will grow best in full sun, and should be soaked in lukewarm water before planting to help rehydrate it. Hapil grows well in lighter, more airy soils and can be susceptible to some diseases and frost, so some protection is advised.
